Trinity Kids

Before service, we have a Sunday School class for 7-10 year olds from 9:45am-10:15am during the school year. They interact with the Bible passage for that week’s sermon, learn to pray and memorize Scripture, and are given a worksheet to use during the sermon.

During the service, our younger children are taught in three classrooms - Nursery (0-2), Preschool (3-4), and 5-6 year olds – which are located off the main hallway, just past the restrooms. When you enter the school, you will see a desk and a sign ahead for Trinity Kids, where you may check-in your children.

Nursery and 3-4 year olds may be checked in and taken to their classroom 15 minutes prior to the 10:30am service. They should be picked up within 15 minutes of the conclusion of the service.

The 5-6 year olds will remain in the main worship service until the children are dismissed to their classroom. Listen for when the Pastor dismisses the children and have them follow the Caregiver to the classroom.

School-aged children are welcome to remain in the worship service the entire time. A Children’s Worksheet is prepared each week to correspond with the pastor’s sermon. You may pick up a copy for your child at the entrance.

Each week, the Caregivers will use Lifeway Curriculum to teach an age-appropriate Bible story using a video, discussion and worksheets or coloring sheets.

Each child must be checked in prior to proceeding to their room. Guests should come to the check-in station staffed by the Hall Monitor. Members and returning guests already in our database may proceed to the self-service station.
Each child receives a sticky tag with a number on it, which corresponds to a number for their parent or guardian, which will be used to claim the child after the service. Once parents and children have their stickers, they may proceed to the rooms.

(Note: the 5-6 year olds will go back to the service with their parents. The 0-4’s will go straight to their classroom.)

Sheets:
At the door for the nursery (0-2) and preschool (3-4) will be a sign in sheet. Each parent or guardian must sign in the child(ren) on the sheet with numbered lines. The number they sign next to will correspond with a pager number which the parent or guardian will keep during the service and must return at pick-up.

During the morning, Preschoolers and 5-6 year olds will be given a small cup of water and a gluten free snack such as Rice Chex or Veggie Sticks. Nursery Caregivers may administer a bottle if it is clearly labeled. The Nursery Caregivers are also able to offer Baby Puffs if a child is in need of a snack.

Parents should take their child to the bathroom before coming to the classroom. Each room has its own bathroom. If children are toilet-trained, they may use the bathroom on their own. Caregivers will not accompany a child into the bathroom or assist the child on the toilet. If assistance is needed, the parent or guardian will be paged. Caregivers will not change diapers. If a diaper change is needed, the parent or guardian will be paged.

Parents can rest assured that everyone serving with children has been background checked.

Also, each person serving should be wearing a Trinity T-shirt to help easily identify them as ‘on duty’. No other adults (other than the parents and guardians at pick up and drop off) should be in the childcare area if they are not on duty that weekend.

People in charge on Sunday morning are: the Team Leader, the Hall Monitor, and the Caregivers.
